Send any document for signature

Any document under Documents can now be sent to one person to sign. They read it, fill in the fields left to them, draw a signature, and both of you get a signed copy with a certificate page and a fingerprint that proves nothing was altered.

Any document under Documents can now be sent to one person to sign. It is the same PDF template and the same fields as autofill. What signing adds is a person on the other end, a record of what they agreed to, and a copy for both of you that can be shown unaltered later.

Sending it

Open the document's Fill page, enter the values that are yours, then choose Send for signature instead of Fill Document. You give the signer's name and email, choose which image field receives the drawn signature, tick any other fields you are leaving to them, and add an optional note for the email.

Your fields are checked before anything goes out, so a lease with a blank rent cannot be sent. The request then appears on the document's Signatures page with its status: sent, opened, signed, declined, cancelled or expired. Links stop working after 30 days, and an open request can be cancelled from that page.

What the signer sees

The email names your company and the document. The link opens a page that shows the whole document first, then asks for their fields, a drawn signature (finger, stylus or mouse), their typed full name, and a tick beside the consent wording. Nothing is sent until they press Sign. They can decline instead, with an optional reason, and you are emailed either way.

What you both get

The document is rendered with your values, theirs and their signature, and a signature certificate is appended as the last page. It records who sent it, who signed, when the link was sent, opened and signed, the network address and browser used, the consent wording agreed to, and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the signed pages. Both parties are emailed a link to the signed file along with the fingerprint of the whole file, so anybody holding a copy can confirm it has not changed.

The signed file is recorded in the document's History, and if the request was sent from a lead, the signing is written to that lead's activity.

QuickCasa is not a law firm and this is not legal advice, but the signature captures intent, consent, attribution and integrity, which is the same class of signature the large e-signature products provide.
