Put a disclaimer in front of a shared floorplan

The Welcome screen section of the Sharing tab puts a page of your own words in front of a shared plan, before the drawing appears.

Write it in the markdown editor, with headings, bold, lists and links, and a preview beside it shows what a reader will get. A heading of your own goes above it, or it reads "Before you look around".

Asking for an acknowledgement

Turn on Require a tick before the plan opens and a tick box appears under your message, with your own wording beside it or "I have read and understood the above". The plan stays hidden until it is ticked. It is asked again on every visit rather than remembered, because an acknowledgement somebody gave last week and has forgotten is not an acknowledgement.

The obvious use is the one this exists for. A floorplan is approximate by design, and "these dimensions are approximate and not for construction" read and ticked is worth a great deal more than the same sentence in small print underneath.

What it is not

This is a cover page, not a lock. Whoever reaches it has already been let in, dismissing it happens entirely in their browser, and nothing about the tick is recorded or sent anywhere. What decides who gets in is the passcode and the form settings above it, which are answered before a plan is sent at all. If something must not be seen without agreement, it does not belong on a shared plan.

Two smaller things

• A screen turned on with nothing written in it is not shown, and the editor says so. An empty cover page is worse than none, because a reader has to dismiss it to discover it was blank.
• Only ordinary formatting survives the trip to the public page. Pasted HTML, scripts and styling are stripped out, so write it as text and let the formatting buttons do the work.
