Add an Email Address field to your custom forms
Custom forms now have an Email Address field type that checks the address before the form is sent. On phones it brings up the email keyboard, and when the form feeds a lead flow it is picked as the person's email for you.
Custom forms now have a dedicated Email Address field type. Use it wherever you ask for an email, and the form checks the address before it is sent, so a typo is caught while the visitor is still on the page.
Where to find it
Open a form under Custom Forms and add a field, or open one you already have, then pick Email Address as its type. It sits right after Text (Single Line) in the list.
What it does on the form
- On phones, tapping the field brings up the email keyboard.
- The form will not submit until what is typed looks like an email address. The visitor sees "Please enter a valid email address" and can fix it on the spot.
- The check applies even when the field is optional. An optional field left blank is fine, but a half-typed address is not.
Connecting it to a lead flow
When a custom form feeds a lead flow, QuickCasa needs to know which answer is the person's email address. In Link To Lead Flow, the Email picker now selects your Email Address field for you. If a form has no saved mapping and no field with the key email, the Email Address field is the one used.
Good to know
Fields on your existing forms are not changed. If you collect email in a plain text field today, switch that field's type to Email Address the next time you edit the form to get the check and the phone keyboard.
